About Us

Adventure Consulting was developed in April 2000, after the Director, Fleur Stoios, recognised the need for a Sales Agent to represent small locally run and owned Adventure Tour Companies. Currently representing 10 Adventure Tours across Australia, sales and marketing promotions of these businesses are predominantly done in Melbourne Travel Agencies, youth hostels and tourist information centres.

Principal Business Activities:
§ Sales and marketing promotions through travel agencies, hostels and tourist information centres.
§ Training and educating new sales agents about the tour products.
§ Updating sales agents with new information, products.
§ Consulting with the Tour owners with their enquiries.
§ Maintaining reports and accounts

§ Visiting youth hostels, travel agencies and tourist information centres promoting the preferred adventure tourism companies.
§ Developing new ideas on how to market the clients of Adventure Consulting.
§ Training and updating information about the tours to the selling agents.
§ Collating opinions from selling agents about customer satisfaction of the tours, sales levels.
§ Awareness of competitors, therefore marketing why Adventure Consulting clients are the best tours on the marketplace to the selling agents.
§ Sales skills for the international market, through cross-cultural awareness.
§ Scoping for a larger potential market through presentations.
§ Bringing new marketing and sales ideas to the business based on personal experience and what interests the backpacker market.

Generate New Outlets for VIP
§ Research and establish new outlets for VIP
§ Presentations to new selling agents about the features of VIP, and the incentive to sell them.
§ Regular meetings to monitor sales levels and customer interest in the product.
§ Regular visits to update sales agents about new features, packages.

Consult to people starting up a business in the Backpacker Industry
§ Assisting in developing the business idea and interrelating it with the needs of the Backpacker market and how this will be met.
§ Financial costing of the business; how many people are required on the tour to break-even/make a profit.
§ Developing marketing and promotional ideas to assist the new business in it first few months of operation.
§ Distinguishing the new tour product from its competitors in the market place. Marketing these differences.
§ Promotional channels and distribution of brochures to reach the target market.
§ Relating the preconceived images and ideas backpackers have of Australia, and what they want to experience on adventure tours.

Consult to people applying for the export market development grant
§ Advising of the financial benefits to the business. The ability to reach a new market.
§ Huge potential business growth, creating more demand for the product by targeting the international market.
§ The export market development grant will also assist in confirmation of numbers earlier. This will assist Adventure Consulting when making sales call to the selling agents; it means that the seats remaining on each tour can be stated and hopefully filled.
